here’s more fabulous umbrella inspiration for you.

i’m back in my native stomping grounds for the next week, the oregon coast, and the weather is despicable. despite being AUGUST, it’s gray, drizzly and a whopping 12 degrees — my attempt at celsius since i’m moving to australia in 5 days! — that’s just shy of 54 for you fahrenheit junkies.
perfect umbrella weather.
in the last year i re-embraced umbrellas. too stubborn to fall into tourist stereotypes, i spent my college years in seattle showing up here, there and everywhere else looking like a drowned rat because umbrellas were “un-northwest.” protest schmotest, i looked a’fool.
while i would never go to the extent of the gal above, the clear rain slicker, i love the glamor emerging from this waterproof look.
sometimes a gal must pull her hair off her face and behind a fabulous hat. while that would look utterly awful on me, ms. brows here looks wonderful.
i’m first to hate any t-shirt that resembles painted on features (think beefy body silhouettes), but the faux collar on this is just damn cool.

fact: girly girls like flowers.
the type of flower each girly girl likes varies drastically. one girl’s gerbera daisy is another girl’s cymbidium orchid. my flower of choice is the peony—so full, so luscious, so lovely.
one thing girly girls of all ages will always like: story time.

i don’t normally like plum lips, but this little lady looks fabuloso with her dark lips, eggplant-colored cardigan and forever long skirt. a look, this brunette confesses, only suitable for a blonde.
although this is vintage faux, she’s pretty and i like it.

spitting image of more 3-D snow white, isn’t she? elizabeth taylor looks absolutely stunning here. i love her side-swept hair, the color of that dress, even the cameo pin buried between her cleavage.
does anyone know which movie this is from? want to watch it, whatever it’s about, immediately!
i’ve always dreamed of the patios of all patios. al fresco lighting that’s romantic without looking cheesy (insert jabs at The Bachelor here) isn’t the easiest to accomplish.
While I wouldn’t go as overboard as I think they went here with empty mason jars littered with Christmas lights and empty jars, I certainly adore the idea of having bulbs in mason jars themselves—it all looks a bit cluttered. I do like the red flowers though…
Que romantico.
fact: every girly girl must have a sweet little cake stand in her kitchen.
myth: cute little cake stands cost a lot. nope! cake domes are my favorite thing to give as wedding gifts — couples always register for them, they’re affordable and instantly beautify any kitchen.
i usually opt for glass ones, but this marie antoinette-blue one is charming as hell.

new york, new york, a wonderful town.
ok, i may have never been…but pictures like this having me falling in love with its potential. a city so big has to have something for everyone to love in one shape or another. right?
i imagine going in the fall, when the temperatures have dropped beneath sweltering; the air smells of october baseball — garlic fries, deep fried-goodness and pale ales; store windows are draped in amber-colored scarves.
brb, i’m going to walk the leopard in my mink wrap.
a sentence you’ve always wanted to utter, right? more importantly, this has changed my mindset on owning a cat. as unrealistic as this image is these days, how flippin suh-weet would it be (minus the whole domesticating a wild animal factor) to have this kinda kitty?

shoveling down my quinoa porridge this morning in my dark apartment, while throwing on a black skirt and blow drying my hair simultaneously doesn’t equate into the serenity this photo suggests.
this makes me want to put on some bobbi brown natural make-up, politely sip on that coffee, whilst nibbling on this very parisian looking breakfast with perfect posture.
girly girls love natural wonders, like the pine cone!

oxfords are the best. not manly oxfords, but girly ones that are widely cut around the top of the foot. while that makes foot sweat vs no see-um socks a challenge, they’re the girliest of menswear as they come.
like this gal here, when paired with cuffed jeans, it’s ohsoright. i like to balance things out and wear an ultra feminine top when i wear my oxfords.

this outfit is hotness. i especially like the peaking out slip and her swoopy hair.
