kinda like my girls talkin shop (aka bras) post, this lovely little collection is attributed to all things cheesy and aesthetically pleasing.
it’s tempting enough to invite some your favorite guys and gals over for an intimate soiree — where everyone brings a bottle of something tall, dark and red and is dressed to the vintage nines.
that reminds me, margarita stewart posted a lovely run through of what every wine and cheese party thrower should know.

i’ve recently uncovered american supermodel josie maran’s adorableness. sure we’ve seen her within the pages of glossy fem mags or in maybelline ads, but it looks like josie has more to her than a pretty face.
she is…in fact…a natural girly girl! or at least her blog, josie maran cosmetics shows us that there are many sides to this model that aren’t all stilettos and sass.
more along the likes of a prairie home companion, i’m a little in love with her market look of 80 degrees-meets february outfit consisting of a gunne sax-esque dress, a ruby red owl necklace, polka-dotted purse and black ankle strap flats.
see more pics of her outfit from her post, what would josie wear on a winter’s summer day?
you don’t have to solely channel your inner-thelma (a la scooby doo) on halloween, nor do you have to hide behind dark shades to compliment the winter temperatures.
calling all brunettes: throw on a pair of tights and rock that hot pretty in pink mini like it’s never been.

add some tall trees, some dusty, mismatched tea cups and a typewriter and i’d be all set.

hold the texts, skip the e-mails. sometimes a girly girl just likes a handwritten letter. there are several components that come into play when sending a letter, of course this varies depending on who it’s to.
the basics:
- stationary - notebook paper w/ untamed spirals vs something signature and classic.
- ink - no bics allowed, pilot precise v5’s only.
- penmanship - have you gotten your cursive on since third grade? channel your grandparents and mimic those romantic loops and italicized slopes.
- scent - to spritz or not to spritz?
- length - epic, gushy novel vs short’n sweet.
- return address placement - back…always.
- method of seal - i’d much rather face burn scars from sealing with wax than that putrid taste of envelope glue.
ok, not everyone’s inner-letter snobbery needs to shine through their snail mail methods. the bottom line is that no matter what you send it will be well-received.

every little girl dreamed of a tent, strung with big-bulbed lights and a steady supply of cotton candy.
i imagine something to that umph occurring here.

alas, another lovely method of illumination: top hats, bowler hats and the like!
not sure how you manage to keep these babies from lightin’a’flame, but i’m so in love with this idea.
this could be a classic touch on a bachelor pad? lighting in your charlie chaplin worshiping room?
